Easter in the Mountains

Jammy and Macho spent a "SUPER FUN" Easter weekend in the mountains.
The boys got a little bit competitive in their race to hunt to Easter eggs.

Jammy kept the campfire going.

They had a ham that looked like a dinosaur!

Evaneni and Tamibacsi promptly put together a video all about it. They are the best!

Twister

There was a tornado that stopped by the boys' neighborhood on Saturday. There was a lot of damage around Raleigh, but it didn't bother anything at the boys' house.

They weren't even home to be frightened by it, because they had taken G'pa and Joy to the mountains for the day. In fact, they wouldn't have noticed that it had happened at all if the power and water weren't shut off when they got back home.

Jammy got a little emotional when the lights wouldn't turn on, and the idea of a tornado probably bothered him more than anyone else. By a sheer, unfortunate coincidence, he had been reading The Wizard of Oz in the car on the way home.

There is a tornado-proof force-field surrounding Jammy's house.
Jammy says this song is playing inside the force-field.

Macho says . . .

Today Macho made Mom laugh when he said, "Wook, Mom! Here comes a wot of my flends!"

He has always been a creative speaker, rearranging sounds in original ways.

For instance, when he's speaking, the sound "f" can be replaced with the sound "p."

How does that work?

  • He likes to have laugh and have "pun" [fun].
  • He enjoys eating good "pood."
  • He points with his "pinger."
  • He is "pour" years old.

Mom's not too worried because Macho doesn't seem to have any trouble pronouncing individual sounds. He's just sorting out when to use each one.

Besides, if she corrects him, he might hang on to his own ways out of pure stubbornness.

Packing Toys

Why is it that a toy Macho hasn't ever picked up to play with before becomes his most favorite toy EVER when Mom is trying to pack it into a moving box?

Jammy says . . .

While laying out on the front lawn with a piece of grass in his mouth, "Mom, I would like to be alone for a little while. I want to think about Puff the Magic Dragon and try to make myself cry."

February recital

No, he doesn't play that instrument (whatever it is!), but click on the names of the songs to link to videos of Jammy's most recent impromptu, on-line, piano recital:

For Eva

Today while riding in the car, Macho pulled up his shirt sleeve, and said, "Mom, do you see that?"

Mom, "Yes, what is it?"

Macho, "It's my burning armpit!"

Mom, "You have a burning armpit?"

Macho, "Yes, and it will 'stroy you!"

Mom, "Your burning armpit will destroy me?"

Macho, in a growly voice, "Yes, it will shoot fire and 'stroy you!"
