Mr. Independent

Macho is very independent, to a fault.  Literally from the time he was born, he has wanted to make his own decisions and do things by himself.  For some reason, lots of people have a problem with that.

When Mom picked him up from school today, Mrs. C. told Mom that Macho is having a lot of trouble making good decisions.  Mrs. C. is going to be talking to the preschool's director about some ideas for helping Macho be more positively motivated to do the right thing.  They might even have some methods that Mom can try at home.  Nice!

Those teachers probably think that this is completely a parenting issue.  They might not be so sure if they heard the stories about the unbelievably creative, naughty decisions that Macho's pApa made when he was a small child.  This could be totally hereditary.  Mom is not going to be thrown under the bus for this.

After school, when Macho was eating his lunch, Mom told him that he needs to listen to Mrs. C., and when he does, he will be rewarded with treasure from the treasure box in his class.

Macho wouldn't look at Mom, but he muttered under his breath, "I'm gonna get tweasure box on my own."
